Harris County MUD 189 (the District), your water provider, is seeking interested and qualified candidates to work the District’s 2026 Bond Election. Election workers will be compensated services rendered at $20 per hour. The following positions are available:

1. Early Voting Judge
2. Early Voting Clerk
3. Early Voting Clerk
4. Election Day Judge
5. Alternate Election Day Judge
6. Election Day Clerk
7. Election Day Clerk

Eligibility Requirements:

• Own property or reside within the boundaries of Harris County MUD 189
• Registered voter within Harris County MUD 189
• Age 18 or older
• U.S. citizen

The District’s 2026 Bond Election will be held at 15817 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77090. Election workers should be available to work during the following dates and times:

Early Voting
Monday, April 20, 2026, through Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Monday, April 27, 2026 through Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Election Day
Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

DISTRICT RESIDENTS:
H2O Innovation staff will be mobilized and standing by to deal with water main breaks and water plant issues. If you experience a pipe freeze on your side of your water meter outside your home, H2o can only turn your water off at the meter. If you have a pipe broken inside your home, you can isolate your private cut off, which is usually located on the side of your home below your water spigot or inside the garage.

We recommend having the names of a couple of plumbers should you need them. As H2O does not repair homeowner private water lines.

Freeze Preparation Tips:

• Wrap outdoor and garage pipes.
• Remove water hoses and wrap water spigot.
• Drain and turn off sprinklers system.
• Turn off water to your washer if in garage.
• If you leave your house before a freeze, turn off the water at your private cut off valve and leave your heat on.

Protect your pipes when it freezes!

• Open cabinets under sinks to let your house heat warm the pipes.
• If your pipes freeze, turn off the water at your private cut off valve. This prevents broken pipes from leaking into your home after they thaw.
• Let faucets drip from the cold and hot taps or run water through your indoor faucets before you go to sleep.
